E02F01: Funkei Loavn – Hannes Funk, der Maskenschnitzer aus Bischofswiesen

Ab sofort produziert „Der Infotainer“ Podcasts für Bayernwelle Südost – der regionale Radiosender für den Chiemgau, Rupertiwinkel und das Berchtesgadener Land in Südostoberbayern. Das hier ist die erste Folge nach einer längeren Pause und es geht um einen Brauch, der im Alpenvorland eine lange Tradition hat. Dazu habe ich einen Maskenschnitzer besucht. 

Hannes Funk kommt aus Bischofswiesen. In seinem Keller hat er eine Werkstatt eingerichtet. Dort duftet es nach Holz, die verschiedensten Werkzeuge liegen bereit und an den Wänden hängen gruselige Gestalten. Hannes schnitzt Krampus- und Buttnmandl-Masken. In diesem Jahr 2020 wird das Krampus- und Buttnmandllaufen in der Region Berchtesgadener Land/Rupertiwinkel/Chiemgau aufgrund von Corona anders stattfinden – wie so vieles andere auch. Wie genau ist zum jetzigen Standpunkt (19.11.20) noch nicht klar, aber es wird sicherlich keine großen Läufe geben, wo viele Menschen zusammen kommen. 

Dem Schnitzer Hannes Funk tut das in der Seele weh, aber trotzdem ist er fleißig dabei für junge Burschen Masken zu schnitzen. Die werden über Jahre getragen, teils sogar über Jahrzehnte. Denn so eine Maske aus Holz ist etwas Besonderes. 
Hannes erzählt von seinen Anfängen als Schnitzer, von seiner ersten eigenen Maske und davon warum er speziell für die jungen Burschen schnitzt. Er erklärt (und es ist auch zu hören) wie eine Maske mit einer Motorsäge vorgeschnitzt wird und woher er die Inspiration nimmt.
